Which apps benefit most from high memory throughput?

I was reading reviews of the MSI mobo based on the ATI XPRESS 200 chips and came across this.

I ran multiple benchmark programs with four different CPUs/Motherboard Architectures to see how this thing would perform. When it comes to Floating Points this thing comes in last in almost every test, even with the Athlon XPs. Hard Drive speeds seemed to take a slight hit, but nothing big. Finally, and this is the kicker...the memory throughput on this thing is absolutely amazing. It creamed everything it went up against. So in short, if you need something that is more memory intensive that CPU this is the board for you.
