Which antivirus vendor?

Hello again esteemed mentors,

Our license for McAfee Virusscan Enterprise 8.0i expired (woops). Fortunately we get grace DATs for a brief period.

Anyway, I hear great reviews about Trend and Sophos. I am wondering if any of you have any views on if it would be worth it to move away from the McAfee product.

It would be covering:
1 Server
6 Desktops
1 Laptop (both on and offsite)

In addition, a good firewall program would be a bonus for the laptop. And one that (hopefully) uses less resources than McAfee.

THanks!

Personally, McAfee Enterprise is very good I find. I'm not aware of any significant benefits that Trend or Sophos would give you though

One of the things I like about Sophos is they seem to be "ahead of the curve" on releasing updates to new threats versus the other vendors I've tried. I also like that I can setup laptops to download directly from Sophos rather than relying on updates from our internal server. Sophos also has an all-in-one Small Business suite that works well in small environments.
I've worked with Trend in the past and they worked very well too.

What it really comes down to is what funding is available and if you want to learn a new product. FWIW 🙂
