The SX830 and 1030 are identical in size and both come with the same power supplies, so the only difference between them are the drive bays and the front appearance of the case.

toph if you have a lot of drives to install in this case then probably the SX1030 since it got 10 drive bays. I kinda like the fan blowing on one of the drive cages too. That keeps your HDs cool and you don't have to invest in a HD cooler.

go with the sx1030, i personally have the 830 because i don't need the extra drive bays, so i saved myself 10 bucks. go to onvia and check if they have the sx1030b...it's the 1030 in black

I have the SX-830. Personally, I really didn't like how the cover looked. Plus, the SX-830 was a bit cheaper.

I have the sx830 and love it. In looking at the design now, I convinced that it would not take muc hat all to order the spare parts from Antec to add a second hard drive cage below the one that comes with it. I just didn't want to deal with the door. It all boils down to how many 5 1/4 bays you need (3 vs 4) and how many hard drive bays you need (3 vs 4). With the modified 830, you can get 6 internal hard drive bays. I only needed two for now.
