Which AMD Processors support Dual Channel??

Which AMD processors/motherboards, if any, support dual channel?? It was my understanding that AMD processors and motherboards dont support dual channel operation, or is this just the A64 processors? SharkyExtreme has a synopsis of the MSI K7N2 Delta-L motherboard to support a 2800+ Barton CPU, and makes several mentions of the boards dual channel support. Could someone please clear this up for me??

For the K7 platform Dual-Channel memory mode is dependant on the Northbridge. That board is Dual-Channel compatible because it uses a nVidia chipset.

The K8 on the other hand has Dual-Channel in all Socket 939 and 940 processors. This is because for the K8s the memory controller is integrated into the processor.
 
And then theirs the SMP stuff with the Opterons. The AMD64 has the memory controller in the CPU itself, so that if your looking at a dual 940 socket motherboard you definiatly one that has independant channels for both proccessors.

I've seen that cheaper boards share the bandwidth between the 2 cpu's by only utilizing one of the CPU's memory controller/memory bus/whaterver.

They typically only support a maximum of 8gigs of RAM.

However the nicer boards you can tell because they have memory sockets in 2 different places on the motherboard (for short memory pathways to the CPU) and will support up to 12 or 16 gigs of RAM depending on the amount of memory sockets they have.

Sharing the memory controller of only one CPU is a waste and is a bottleneck to maximum performance. Plus you have better failover because if one CPU goes south the computer can still run with the other CPU in place.
 
I'm confused over which chipset is better for gaming and overclockability. It doenst seem as if too many people around here talk about the nforce3 250 chipset. Is the nforce2 preferable to the nforce3. Nvidia's website makes no mention of dual channel support for the nforce3.
 
As he said, K8's have the memory controller in the processor.

It is my understanding that no Socket 754 board can support dual channel, because the memory controller in Socket 754 Athlon64's does not support dual channel. Likewise, all Socket 939/940 boards support dual-channel because all socket 939/940 Athlon64's have dual-channel memory controllers.

The nForce 3 itself does hot have support (or lack of support) for dual-channel because it doesn't have the memory controller.

I suppose I'm not quite clear on this myself. Do Newcastle/ClawHammer/SledgeHammer all have dual-channel controllers, but this functionality is disabled in the Socket 754 package?
 
OK, I think I've figured it out. I thought the nforce2 chipset supported A64 processors. I've been out of the game since P4 northwoods first arrived, so I'm a bit behind on curren technology.
