Hi everyone,

I wondered whether anyone knew of any performance differences or features between the

Abit Fatal1ty AN9 32X PCI-E

Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe WIFI Edition SLi

both seem to have Gigabit Ethernet, the same chipset and other stuff. I've got no personal preference between the 2 borad makers as I've had good experiences with both in the past.

Cheers,
Dan

i'd go with the M2N32-SLI, it has already been on the market for 2 months and most issues are already been under examination...the Abit board is kinda new, so you may face some issues....

I'd say Asus also, but just so you know, despite some bad reviews, my MSI K9N platinum works very well, so you may want to consider that or the SLi variant also

I just finished reading a review of the M2N32-SLI Deluxe from PCSTATS. It really sounds like a great mobo and if I was going with AM2, this would be my choice.

by the looks of your review, there's...7 SATA connectors? (1x e-SATA and 6xnormal SATA)

I think I'll be getting the M2N32-soemthing then! Can anyone link me to any bad reviews of the board? I don't know if I'm not looking in the right places, but I haven't seen anything.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Most of the complaints about the MSI K9N boards haven't been about performance/bugs but rather, the longevity of the board - in particular, the chipset overheating and the chipset-fan dying/not doing its job right. At least the reviews on Newegg seem to suggest so.

To DanW85,
The ASUS M2N32-SLI board has been out for quite a while and has had some excellent reviews, including here at Anandtech. Some might say it is a no brainer.

The Abit AN9 Fatal1ty isn't even available yet...and though I'm sure it will be a above-average-to-great performer, can't say I'm a big fan of its expansion slots layout.

go with the asus.abit has had so many problems with the last nf4 boards.they really were nt that great a board.the abit an8 32x 939 is a real good board but the am2 boards look good but id have to give the boards some time to to make a good decision to go with abit.i really hope abit has some great am2 boards as i really like them.asus has always been my ole reliable choise as they build great boards and asus is the only brand i buy early on knowing any bugs will be fixed with bios releases quickly.
im very curious to see the dfi am2 boards as i may go dfi this time if they prove out to be good boards and hopefully less picky than the 939 versions.i still kick around getting an expert board to play with.i love the layout and the color scheme and the fact with the right ram it o/clocks like a demon.but it has issues im not sure i want to deal with.if am2/dfi turns out to be not so good ill probubly go 939/expert/killer ddr ram and o/clock like mad to keep up with the newer generation.kinda skip ddr2 and wait for ddr3.the dfi boards look so cool but lord knows they can be very trying to set up and tweek out to get the max out of them.
