Which AGP info to trust?

I have an ASUS gf3 running on an ASUS A7V133...

my BIOS says AGP4x is enabled,
nvmax says AGP4x is enabled,
my 12.60 driver Information tab says the Current Rate is AGP1x

Which is telling the truth? I can imagine nvmax attempting to change the setting, failing, but not knowing so; and I imagine the BIOS setting is just an enabler that isn't being taken advantage of. Setting either of these to 2x still leaves the info tab at 1x.

likewise discrepancies between nvmax and info tab for Sidebanding.

Now, I know AGP rates don't matter too much on older games, but AGP transfers are becoming more prevalent (Anand's FAQ on AGP tells of this). I also expect not to see much difference in performance yet (esp. as DDR RAM systems will notice it more so).
However I'm loathe to overclock my gf3 in order to get say, a 10% increase, when AGP4x and sidebanding is likely give me 2or3% anyway.

Has anyone come across and conquered this problem? I've searched MANY forums and techsites for info, but nothing hits the nail quite precisely enough.

Isn't WCPUID just for the CPU and m/b chipset? Ie. it won't tell me what AGP rate I'm actually running will it? (I've d/l'd it anyway, coz it'll be useful :)

I've seen the supported AGP ratings listed in Sandra, but didn't see the actual running setting. I shall investigate further.
Thanks.
