Hi
I am leaning towards building a A64(3200 or 3400) system instead of P4 (3.0 C , Asus P4C 800DLX, and 1 GB 3200). I looked at this board MSI K8N Neo Platinum, it offers lots of cool features . How stable , easy to OC are the MSI boards. I always used Asus never had any problems with them.

What I will be missing by going with A64, I guess P4's hyperthreading wont make that much difference or will it. Any one wanst to post their review of this board??

Have you read the article about memory compatability and athlon 64 motherboards. Toms h.g. did this review a few weeks ago. Some boards have major issues with specific brands of memory. This article should help you narrow your choices.

I just finished an A64-3000+ build on a VNF3-250 board. Ran 200+ fps all day on a counterstrike server with a 9600XT card. Have to tweak it yet, but cheap and easy build. No real issues except for the manual not being very clear on audio set-up. ;)

Ok since A64 doesn't support dual channel so if I get a dual channel ram it will only run in single mode. I read the review of MSI one on hothardware and they said that its Finicky Overclocker . Has anyone has Asus SK8V .

Got a VNF3-250, great board for the price. And I can wait for some second rev. boards and reviews later and settle down if I find this isn't cutting it.

I just updated my computer with a Athlon 64 3200+, MSI K8V FIS2R mobo and 1GB of Corsair Vallue Select 3200 RAM. Zero issues with compatibility or installation. It's all runnign swimmingly. I am not an avid overclocker, however I set the "Dynamic Overclocker" tool in the BIOS to 3% OC and am leaving it at that for now. I may try it a bit higher as everything burns in and proves stable.

The performance improvement over my old P42.4a with 512MB of 1066 RAMBUS is dramatic to say the least.
