Which 9600 pro should I get?

I looked on New Egg and I am currently thinking of the Sapphire Atlantis 128mb. Is there a huge difference in speed between the 128mb and 256? Is the 256 worth the money?

Should I look at a different brand?

It is going in a Soltek mobo with an xp 2500

Thanks for your help

Here's the 9600 Pro I'd buy: TYAN 9600 PRO

This card, in addition to great performance, has active temperature monitoring and also actually has adjustable fan speed! It also come with a decent OC utility.

Tyan is well known for high qulity products, and this card has gotten many rave reviews.

the tyan is out of stock?

So its still between the sapphire and the ATI, I assume that the ATI is just as overclockable as the sapphire because it depends on the 9600 chip?

It has? Where? It uses overclocked ram for christsakes!

my sapphire 9600pro was slightly underclocked at 290/580 for the memory - but its 2.8ns so should be good for 700, but I havent pushed past 650 for fear of damaging the memory. My core runs fine at 500mhz, for a 3dmark2001 score of 12K with 2.4p4c - without HT on a 865pe

The Gigacube 256MB 9600 is clocked 400/200 so I assume all 256MB 9600?s are clocked that. 9600pro 128MB is 400/300 with 100mhz faster memory and it will be quite a bit faster than the 256MB model.

I'd definitely get the pro. Make sure you don't get one of the "ez" or "lite" versions, those I know are clocked lower. As far as I know, the sapphire pro's are clocked at 400/600.

The best 9600 pro?s come with 2.8ns Samsung memory.

Powercolor Radeon 9600pro ? ?Bravo? ? ? 400/337 ? 2.8ns Samsung
Sapphire Radeon 9600pro ? 'Fireblade' ? ? 400/300 ? 2.8ns Samsung

All the BB ATI retail 9600pro used to come exclusively with 2.8ns Samsung but now they shipping them with the 3.3ns Samsungs. Although the new 3.3ns Samsungs seem to be overclocking better than in the past. I?ve seen 345MHz out of the 3.3?s. BB ATI?s come with a 3 year warranty and there may still be some cards with the 2.8?s out there.

ok the sapphire i was looking at was the lite version, so thats out of the picture.

And the sapphire 9600 pro that isnt the lite version is out of stock.

So I think I am either going to get:

CONNECT3D ATI RADEON 9600 PRO 128MB DDR DVI+TV RETAIL

or the ATI 9600 pro retail, anyone see anything wrong with these, and can they be OCed?

Typo. ATI 9600 pro is 400/300DDR. No one makes a 9600 with SDRAM.

ATI retail is going to be my choice in a 9600pro because of 3 year warranty --- and a place you can actually send the card if something goes wrong.

Whats the difference from the regular Sapphire Atlantis ATI RADEON 9600 PRO 128MB to the Ultimate. Don't see anything on Neweggs site.

If i was getting a 9600 Pro this would be the card for me!

Or I'd try to scrap up a little more for a 9700pro.
