Hey guys, so I've come to the conclusion that I want a 7970 for my new build (unless someone wants to convince me to get a GTX 670 FTW or something). More people seem to say that'll be better in the long run.
Now the question is which brand to get? I heard some are voltage locked and some just suck in general. Any specific brand i should look out for?

Thanks :)

MSI / Giggy

However the best ATI cards i have ever owned was by HIS.
Sublime knows his ATi cards.. :p
HIS all the way with me now for ATi.

Powercolor was also decient with RMA's.
They did swap out 2 of my card which died.

The one thing i dont like about ATi cards is 90% of them need to go back to China to get an RMA.
That takes time with most of the vendors not offering Advance RMA options anymore.

This is one the biggest reasons i stay with eVGA and Nvidia.
A dead card turn around from them is 2 days TOPS with the upgraded RMA option, not the 10-14 business days required by a China RMA.

The Chinese RMAs are not from AMD, they are certain manufacturers.

MSI/Asus should have USA facilities. I should look into that and add it to that GPU warranty spreadsheet.

The Saphire Vapor-X 7970 is a really good card to consider. Mine seems to do well with cooling and overclocking. I previously had a HIS 4890 and it was a good card and still problem free after four years.

I have this sapphire 7970 as well and cooling is great. Can't go wrong with the sapphire or an HIS.

HIS has been coming out with some real winners. They just need to switch to a black PCB to win me over.
