Which 7800 to buy?

Ok, I know there is a slim increase in performance between models, but what is the difference between the GT and GTX and which is better? What model of this card out there is the best to buy now? None of the cards I have seen have lifetime warrenties, like the 6800U had, why is that?

So, in other words, which should I buy for my gaming rig?

what resolution do you play at?

im pondering this too, but i will be playing at 1280 x 1024 so im not sure if the GTX over the GT will be worth it

Ok, so eVGA is better? But which one, the GT or GTX? I'll be getting a 2405FPW most likely or a 2005FPW so I'll be gaming at higher resolutions.

the GT's and GTX's seem to be overclocking in the same ranges, though a guy in the VF has his GT at 520!

when you look at the benches though, the GTX and GT are cpu limited in a lot of things so you dont see the extra performance the GTX has.

eVGA better than BFG? I usually hear it the other way around, but maybe that's just because of the out-of-the-box overclock that BFG supplies....

At any rate, think about the rest of your system. Think about what resolution you typically game at. Unless your system's really beastly, I'm going to suggest going with the 7800 GT. The GTX is better, but if you're computer isn't up to snuff, the rest of your machine will be such a bottleneck that you won't see any difference between the two.

I used the BFG 6800U and I had no problems at all, it was also a little cheaper. It seems the clock speeds are lower on the eVGA's 7800 GTX than others, I'll have to check into BFG's.

The system this card will be going into will have X2 4400, either a DFI Ultra-D or MSI Neo4 mobo, and 2 gigs of ram and the other misc stuff, so I hope the system won't be the bottle neck.

EDIT: XFX and eVGA have the fastest 7800 GTX at 490/1300 with BFG coming in at 460/1300. Isn't XFX crap though?

7800GTX>7800GT, period.

Just make sure you are running at 1280x or higher or the cards will be held back.
