evga has a step-up program. You might want to factor that in as well.

Leadtek does have a better HSF.

Unfortunately, no one can guarantee that you will be able to OC and be stable because of many factors.
1) components of your computer rig
2) your ambient temperature
3) the card (regardless of evga/leadtek) you buy might be a good or bad one

However, from what I know, both those cards are fine choices although the old Leadtek was pretty good at OCing.

Yeah why? Prices are supposed to drop to $300 msrp which might be 250AR.
And you shouldn't need to put up with broken wmv acceleration at this point for $300 esp. with the 7800gt out.

I just bought the Leadtek from Newegg and had to RMA it because of a broken fan. Have not yet received the replacement. Other than that...does the EVGA come with a game bundle? The Leadtek comes with Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell, not that it should really be a factor.

The Leadtek at Newegg also gives you $20 off on select AMD processors if you're in the market for a new one.

eVGA is a great brand.

I'd go with them over Leadtek any day, even factoring in bundle...

i have the evga....no problems on my end. didn't overclock because frankly, i don't need to.

the stock heatsink is whiny, so i went out and bought a NV5 silencer and now i couldn't be happier.

I'll second that...

No, so far the 6 series does not have a lifetime warranty. 7800GT

If not then just get the evga 6800GT and then you could trade up in a couple of months if you feel the need to...chances are the prices of the 7800GT will be a lot closer to what you'll pay for that 6800GT now so it won't cost you much to trade up to a 7 series then...
