Ok I am either going to order today, tommrow, or Sunday, but most likely now.

There is a full shelf of Leadtek 6800 GT for around 459$
I can get the evga from newegg for 424$
I can wait for the BFG at chumbo.com

Which is the best? I know BFG's warranty is lifetime, I think Evga's is 3 years and same with leadtek. JUst which should I get?
 
Newegg is always a pleasure to deal with and ive not heard anything bad about evga yet. Save some $$ and order from newegg.. like I just did. 😉
 
eVGA comes with a 1 year warranty and FarCry.
Leadtek comes with that uber-heatsink (not sure on the warranty).
BFG comes with Lifetime Warranty.

IMO, the heatsink on the Leadtek isn't neccessary. I'd go with the eVGA or the BFG, which ever is cheaper and available. If you already own Farcry, then get the BFG.
 
Newegg used to be a great place to get good deals on hardware but anymore they are EXPENSIVE and I dissaprove of their price gouging, Ill get my stuff from zipzoomfly or elsewhere
 
If I were buying a video card now I see no reason to buy a GT over the $330 x800 Pro deal at Dell.

I think BFG is the best, but I wouldn't pay much of a premium for any 1 brand.
 
I'd get the Leadtek. I really like the cooler on it. Gainward seems interesting. MSI has a new card with nice, quiet cooling as well. I would choose one of those since I don't really like the reference design. Therefore, no BFG, eVGA, Albatron, PoV, Club3D, PNY or XFX for me. Asus looks great but it's too loud.
 
I bought the Leadtek, running mine at 410 1.08 right now 62 degC
Can go much higher but won't for now.
Comes with Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell Pandohra Tommorrow, Gunmetal and Big Matha Truckers
The first 2 games are really good.
The Heatsink is solid copper and it is quite large. Not much louder than my old radeon 9800 pro.
It's fast and I'm impressed with the smoothness my games play, unlike my radeon board, the extra 128meg ram sure helps.
Bought it for $439.00 butr the price has went up alittle.
Leadtek = Quality in my book, I won't hesitate to buy their product again.

Yeah, people have been saying that since early last month.

It'll be in stock and msrp in another 4 months probably, 6 months after they first started hitting the shelves. If you want the best, you're going to get gouged at the moment.

That said, I would go with the BFG.
 
I bought my BFG 6800 GT OC at Best Buy here in Phoenix last Monday. They started getting them in Monday morning so I called the closest one to me who showed they had it in stock to save it for me and he said he would and took my name, but when I got there after work both of them had been sold. I did get one at another Best Buy a few miles away. Also mine does not have the reference HSF assembly. Instead it has a large copper HSF and 2 blue led fans for cooling. Would look nice if I had a window in my case. All the stores showed out of stock a couple days later. It seems to work great.
 
To find a BFG 6800GT, check out the thread about the BFG's arriving at BBY's. They are becoming more common in BBY's, as the initial rush for them has died down. So as a few more filter in every week or two, they stay on the shelves for longer. And yes, it has a beautiful heatsink/fan with blue LEDs. 😀
Oh, and to whoever said they wouldn't buy a GT since the X800 Pro was so cheap @ Dell: HELLO, 16 vs 12 pipes
 
This is true but considering prices of used PC hardware (let's say, after 1-3 years of use), you'll get like 10 bucks for that warranty...

Oh well, I guess I'm just an anti-BFGist. Warranty and support are important but I find it just a little bit ridiculous that this card, ordinary and bland like a wooden stick, gets so much cheerleading around here because of features you should in fact never make use of 😉

Most don't care about warranty until they have to use it. I've used BFG warranty and support for my FX5900 and they were awesome. Hopefully BFG will be around a long time to keep supporting the warranty.
