Which 6800 GT manufacture?

Monarch is having some awesome deals on the 6800 gt. They are selling the evga for $377 with doom 3 and a gainward GOLDEN SAMPLE for $400. Which one would you go with?

golden sample will probably have the best overclocking, but i would get the evga for $377 with doom 3. its a warm deal

I would probably end up throwing the nv silencer on it with some arctic silver for overclocking if I went with the evga.

Gainward.

On the Golden Sample (I ordered it) Gainward even GIVES FACTORY WARRENTY for OCing to 6800ULTRA speeds!

im at 427/1.18 with my evga.
Do you honestly think that your card is representative of all eVGA 6800GTs on the market? As he said, all cores are not created equal. 🙂

no, but i do think it would be hard to come across an EVGA that doesnt at least hit ultra speeds

I got the Gainward 6800 GT Golden Sample myself, great card. It runs stably at Ultra speeds, but I am running at GT speeds, my CPU isn't fast enough to take advantage of an Ultra. At the GT speeds, I don't think its gotten above 65^C, approximately. Seems to be pretty solid.

The outstanding cooling solution that Gainward puts on it can be a bit noisy when the fans are running at full throttle, though I don't notice it over the din of my games.

Well I ended up buying the Gainward. I hope I see a big difference between my 9800 pro and this, or else this thing is going back to monarch.

Im starting to have buyers remorse. for 380 I can get a 6800 gt with doom 3. I can sell that and make like 30 bucks off of it. Its really tempting to tell them to switch the card out with the evga one right now...

Probably have to crank the resolution to at least 1280x1024 to see much difference from your 9800 Pro, letting the memory bandwidth limitations kick in.
