Which AGP 6600gt based card should I go for (128mb)? What would be your first, second, third preferences? Why? Thank you.

EDIT: An AGP card.

i like the MSI one a lot...have bought a few of those for friends and such...if you can find one, the Gainward one is also VERY good...

TY, keep the suggestion coming. BTW, I heard that recently there were some issues with XFX 6600gt cards (like overheating). Is it true?

I got a Prolink from NewEgg for about $168. No probs at all.

And I read the same thing about the XFX cards. Do a search on here for XFX and you come up with quite a few complaints.

Go for the Leadtek. I have one, and it is a great overclocker, though that will depend a lot on the sample you will be getting. The cooler is one of the best solutions around. You can read Anand's review of the PCIe versions and that will give you an idea.

i love evga but i wouldn't recommend their 6600gt agp. i just had to get the vf700 to cool that sucka and what a pita. although the temps improved greatly it just shows what a pos stock cooler they put on there. i mean, that thing would hit 90c even after i put as5 on. no ram sinks or anything. i was really disappointed as evga is my favorite, great pricing and even better support.

well, that can happen with any manufacturer. mine clocks like mad but i wasn't even comfortable gaming for long periods at stock until i got better cooling.

I like my Chaintech. I have it oc'd to 533/1.1GHz on stock cooling. If your on a budget, you can find the Chaintech 6600GT for under $160.00

Leadtek has the least problems/best quality...

BFG is alot more expensive, but does have a lifetime warranty (leadtek has a 3 year i think...as if you'd really need a lifetime one...)
