I've been looking at the different ones they have, but I'm not sure if there is really anything to look for. Supposedly the external officeconnect one offers up to 42Mbs down and 10Mbs up. And don't worry, I know those speeds are way out there compared to what any cable ISPs offer. I get around 2500Mbs from my 3Com CMX cable modem, which on the box supposedly only offers 1.5Mbs rates! This is one of my concerns, is it worth it to get the officeconnect one and hope that ISPs offer better speed contracts in the future?
Another thing is DOCSIS 1.1! They aren't really vary specific on which ones support this and which don't. I am guessing either it really doesn't mean anything and/or they ALL support it. I'm just doublechecking tho
. Heh, their information is so stupid. They brag on how "easy to use" their cable modems are. No sh*t, its just a bridge. Some have a built in USB NIC, which I wouldn't use anyway. But seriously, easy to use, bah.
If anyone can offer me some useful info and help, i would really appreciate it
. Thanks ahead of time. btw, i was tempted to start a separate "which router is the best?" thread, but i held myself back
