The LiteON 32x12x40 CD-RW drive is pretty quiet at full speed...noticeably so compared to the Philips 8x4x32 CD-RW at full speed. More than one person has commented that the AOpen CD-ROM and CD-RW drives sound like jet engines at full speed.
If you've used different brand high-speed CD-ROMs or CD-RWs, can you post the comparative noise level between them?
