I am building a backup gaming rig to keep at my parents house. I have my own apartment, but spend the weekends there during the summer because they are not there. Anyway, don't have a lot of money to spend on a monitor, $300 tops, would like $250 or under. Here are my two main options...

$225 brand NEW off of Craigslist.

-OR-

$250 shipped from Newegg.

My rig will be an AMD 5400+ with an Asus 9600GT TOP videocard and a 500W Antec Earthwatts PSU. Not a powerhouse gaming rig, but good enough. This system will also be used for general use and a lot of burning, so a crips 2D is also nice.

Thoughts on these 2 monitors, or any other suggestions?

I'm using a Samsung 226BW now. Sweet monitor. Even though it's a TN panel. Sure, you can see the difference (I was using a 19" Fujitsu-Siemens PVA LCD before - passed it to my old folks), but the quality of that Samsung TN panel is nowhere near bad. If you never used a PVA screen before, you probably won't even know what people mean :p Anyway, I highly recommend the 226BW :)
