I have a Radeon 9000 Pro and a Radeon 9200 128.

For gaming, which of these 2 cards would be better in the long run???? or are they about equal??

Need help with this ASAP please

I THINK the 9000 Pro, but both are fairly weak. An 8500 LE and a 9100 would be better, methinks.

Yup hes right, since ATI removed thier compairison chart of the 8500 cards and I was curious to see if the 9000 cards were faster or not, I went a did a little research to find out the 9000 cards are MUCH MUCH slower than the 8500s. Why exactally are you getting such a weak card? Both are fairly weak, even a Radeon 9500Pro would beat these easily and with a soft mod you can get it to 9700PRo speeds...

To answer you question, I think you should go with the 9200 because otherwise they are in a dead heat with performance except that the 9000PRo has lower amount of memory. This is a very helpful tool:http://apps.ati.com/ATIcompare/

Check both cards and do a compare, difference with the 9000PRo is 100MHZ faster core clock but that shouldn't make much of a difference. I bet you could Overclock that card to 500MHZ easily and then with out a doubt it would be a better card.
Remember you said in the long run, 128MB video would equate to longer life right off the bat I mean look at farcry, doom III and HL2. All these new games REQUIRE 64MB of video memory, why not get a card thats ahead of the game already!?

just pick up a new card. If you want a good GPU, don't pick between those two but grab a better one. That way you can play some more recent games.

EDIT: If you own both cards, why don't you try both out and figure it out yourself?

We're talking least incribbled here. And if you with "in the long run" mean -5 years then we can start discussing. :p

There is no such thing as a long run videocard unless you have X800XT or 6800GT/Ultra right now.

Buy the cheapest one between those 2 as they are both junk.

9200 can have 64-bit memory and come in SE form making it VERY unpleasant to live with.
9000Pro is a crippled 8500 since it's clocked lower and is only 4x1 instead of 4x2.
I have 8500 and it's honestly incapable of gaming at anything above 800x600. In Far Cry and Doom 3, this is pushing it. Imagine how slow those cards you wanna get are.

Do yourself a favour and get Geforce 4200 for $60 if you really don't want to spend the $$$.

I was just wondering which card would be faster than the other, but it sounds like their both not all that great.

Someone wants me to put one of these in their systems because it's all they have right now. So it sounds like it's ok for average gaming.

Personally I've got a RAdeon 9800 Pro right now. Hoping to improve on this after Xmas... or maybe Santa will be good to me :):)

Thanks for the help. I wish I knew a little more about video cards but I"m learning....

A new Radeon 9100 can be found for ~$38.00 shipped.
Or, a Newegg refurb Radeon 9600 can be found for ~$68.00 shipped.
So, depending on budget, either of these would be better choices.
