Which 1TB HDD, choice of three

Pretty much comes down to how much speed matters and how valuable the warranty is to you. That Seagate will certainly be a faster HDD, if it has the 1TB platter. But the warranty coverage is a lot shorter.

Both the Barracuda's and the WD Blue use 1 TB platters.
The Black's might have 2x 500 GB platters and you're paying extra for an extended warranty.

I'd get whichever is cheaper of the barracuda and the Blue at the time you're ordering.

WD Blue. I hear about far more failures with Seagate's than WD's. I also buy exclusively WD and haven't had a single failure in years.

Same here. Had a Seagate die in the weirdest way, never had a WD just fail on me. Then again I have strange luck, I still have a nearly decade old IBM "Deathstar" 40GB hummin away. Many people swear by SG but I don't.
