Which 19" LCD

I've been heavily researching LCD's for gaming and both these were on my list that I was keeping and religiously doing daily price checks on, searching forums and reviews, etc. I liked both for the DVI, but couldn't decide between the benefit of the Sceptre's 12ms vs 16ms for the BenQ or the longer warranty of the BenQ. I'm assuming that it would have a 3 year like the other BenQ's listed on NewEgg but the Sceptre is only 1 year, that's for sure.

I really wish I could afford the ViewSonic 912-B or a Dell 2001FP but I'm jumping on this:

Hyundai L90D+

Specs vs price seem to be the best deal out there. NewEgg is out of stock at the moment and everyone else who's shown to have any inventory has been running out of it left and right. I love NewEgg but wasn't going to wait anymore - went and ordered from XPCGEAR a few hours ago, actually ended up being about $20 cheaper but we'll see if their service can match Egg.

Are you settled on a 19" as a "must have"?

I have the BenQ FP 951. My second BenQ and i have been quite happy with it. Its slower than the one you linked to (mine is 25ms) and i dont notice ghosting--its pretty minor, but still there. Both BenQs i have had havent had any stuck pixels! The Sceptre seems quite a bit "cheaper" in quality. IMHO.

hey rib, does pcgear have them in stock? i couldn't find a phone number to call to confirm.

i had looked at the benq as well as the sceptre before settling on the hyundai, or waiting to order the hyundai. the sceptre warranty or lack thereof really turned me off after seeing there web site. the benq would be my fall back if i can't find the hyundai, i'm hoping newegg has them tomorrow.

They "act" like they do on the website. Everyone else I tried is out of stock or no longer available. TigerDirect had them going for $370 on Friday.

xpcgear

I'll be sure to follow up with how quick they get it to me (plz) and how it performs since I've benefitted from all the advice on these forums.

yeah it "kinda" looks like they have it, but if you could pm me or post with a shipping confirm? it seems odd they'd be the only one who has them left after the blitz on these things. i've never dealt with them and i'm still hoping newegg has them tomorrow, but who knows.

oh yeah, i was just browsing and i see that walmart has the sceptre for 388 right now. i think i'll take a look and see if they carry them in the local B&M for that price, at least it would be an easy return.

I have the sceptre and am very happy with it. It is just absolutely beautiful in hl2 and nfsu2. I can't find my ut2k4 dvd or my version of D3 or i woudl comment on them as well. The extra inputs on the sceptre are really kinda nice too, and it is only one button to switch between tehm so you can have the one one monitor hooked up to both the dvi and vga on your vid card as though it were a dual monitor and just swith between them.

I saw it pop up there as well but noticed that, like I just noticed on XPCGEAR, that it "usually ships in 1-3 days". I called XPC, the guy was actually very helpful and verified that they "come from another warehouse" and would take a few days before they had it to ship so I know I was looking at a week to get it. I've waited for a year and a half, if I wait any longer, I'll talk myself out of it. XPC cancelled my order without any hassle and I just ordered from NewEgg. I'll be tracking this baby every hour.

And I was pissed that I missed it two weeks ago at $379 at NewEgg and TigerDirect and the $340 deal from CompUSA that lasted about 20 minutes. Guess I should be glad that I got it for $422. They'll still sell out at $442 - supply and demand.

I have that BenQ monitor (also from NewEgg) and have been happy with it. No dead pixels, and having both analog and DVI is great. With my old Ti4200 card, the monitor seems more "pixelated" when using the DVI connector compared to the analog connector. This effect is not present when I use a newer 6600GT video card. So far its been great for gaming.

I just got my L90D+, and it friggin rocks!!!!!! Much brighter than my other LCD (Envision 19") and the response time is fantastic. I played HL2 and it looked great. As far as ghosting, this monitor doesn't have any noticeable problems with it at all. The only evidence of it I could detect at all was if I turned really fast, I could see the edges of certain things, like the body of a dead headcrab zombie, blur just the tiniest bit. Still, it had absolutely no effect on the visual experience. This thing was an absolute steal at $339, and I'd probably even pay the $400+ if it weren't for the fact that I already have an LCD. All in all, I am quite impressed.
