Which 19 Inch Monitor On List???

I've researched monitors like mad, read a lot of old posts, checked out the limited supply at Best Buy, and have finally narrowed down my list to a few. Monitor will be for a variety of apps that any student would use it for, but mostly for gaming. So, color quality/vibrancy and text sharpness are the 2 more important things. I'd also like a monitor that is known for good longevity, because I need it to last well past the standard 3 year warranty. The following prices are from Dell, because they have 20% and free shipping w/ no tax to my state. Let me know what you all think fits my description the best. I have some pros and cons in parantheses. Thanks in advance.

-Dell P991 - $367.20 (don't know much about this one)
-Hitachi CM772 - $327.96 (supposedly great colors for a ShadowMask but how good?, very sharp, good warranty)
-Samsung 900IFT - $326.36 (pretty close to above Hitachi w/ less warranty, but more popular company)
-Samsung 900NF - $339.96 (recommended a lot, but blurry edges would bother me, how bad are they?)
-NEC FP955 - $393.56 (getting spendy, new version of FP950, a great monitor, praised by most, but owned by few it seems, 0.24mm unvariable, pretty good for an AG)
-Cornerstone p1460 - $423.16 (great warranty, great refresh, looks very good, but it is a ShadowMask and quite spendy, and I don't know much about them)
-Sony G420 - $421.56 (seems to be regarded as best 19 inch for a decent price, but quite costly, also I've heard bad things about Sony's quality control)

Didn't have the NEC FP950 in the list, but maybe I should include it. It should be near the Samsung 900NF's price. I know both have very good colors, but which would have better sharpness? Any more opinions?

No point in including the FP950, its probably going to be discontinued soon, since they made the FP955 to be its replacement. You probably should narrow it down one more step, either cross out all the Shadow Mask models, or all of the Aperture Grille models. I can tell you though, the Hitachi CM772 is the best 19" flat shadow mask you can purchase right now. And looking at that list, the Dell P991 or Samsung 900NF would be my picks for Aperture Grille.

I am a proud owner of the Hitachi CM772. I am running 1600 by 1200 at the moment and everything is crisp. After adjusting color temps, colors are great, but I did spend a minute with the geometry controls getting a perfect looking image. Text is great and colors are pretty vivid. I think you would like this monitor.

I own the Dell P991 and it's a beautiful perfect monitor, bright, sharp, crystal clear, vibrant but it is big, heavy and has those two damper wires so if you can put up with that definitely buy the Dell P991 you can't beat 20% off AND free shipping. I heard somewhere the Dell P991 is the same as a Sony G400?

Is there any reason you did not list the Viewsonic PF790? I have been looking at this 19" and have heard positive things.

Any reason why the LG 915FT plus Flatron is not on the list? anyway my choice would be Samsung 900NF for AG type or Samsung 900IFT(shadow type) or LG 915FT FLatron.
