I am looking at getting a 17" lcd but I am torn between which one to get when I read the reviews. I want to limit the cost to no more than $450. I do game quite a bit (when I have time), but I wonder if I am really going to see all of this "ghosting" on any of the 20ms and lower screens? The reviews, mostly Tom's Hardware, say this is better than this and so on and so forth. I am mainly looking at getting the NEC 71V or the 1760. The 71V is newer. Is there any screens you guys have and/or recommend? Any deals usually come around this time of year? I know I missed the Dell one:frown:.

I got a really cheap offer (in Australia though)of this lcd,
it's not the best looking, it's not the best performing, heck it doesn't even have dvi...

But the price/performance is really the one that stuns me...

It's benq fp767 black
260nits brightness
500:1 contrast ratio
16ms
17"
for about $350...

and almost if not all of the 17" lcd 16ms panel is is made by AUO, so the cheapest ones are the one to get...

The NEC 1760V is onsale at newegg for $399 right now. The BenQ 767 is pretty good as well, especially for the price.

You'll definitly want the NX version, because it has DVI input, get it from dell.com they have a better return policy on LCD's than Newegg, any derad pixels and you can return it.

I am becoming less and less of a fan of AUO's 6-bit panel. I just saw a 10-bit panel today from Sharp and I will never go back to AUO's dithering. I really think it is worth the extra change for the Samsung 172T.

People continusly comment about this, yet on my Hitachi, i dont notice it much. And in most situations, not at all. And i used to use a Pro CAD CRT.
