Which 17 in desktop replacement to buy?

MacBook Pro for me, if only because it runs OS X. Neither one is particularly lap friendly, so the weight/size isn't that much of an issue, the MBP has a better battery, but the Alienware has more storage, and better graphics.

I am in to DTR's but I don't like either choice due to value or bang for buck. I chose the AW since it provides more for less money but is still way overpriced for those of us that are value conscious.

not really. depends on what kind of replacement the person is looking for.

if a person wants a dtr for gaming then aw, the mac isnt as good at gaming but has better battery life
