Which 128GB SSD?

Crucial and Plextor seem to use same controler so I'd go with cheaper and well tested Crucial.

Whatever performance gain Intel 510 brings they aren't worth the price premium.

I would say either the m4 or the Intel 510. I would be leaning towards the 510 honestly, price difference isn't that much, it is faster, and it is Intel.

I agree with zlejedi.
I do not know the Plextor drive. But between the other three just get the cheapest one. They are all good drives.

@Shmee - the Intel 510 is only 120 GB. That makes it 2.33 $/GB the Crucial m4 is only 1.78 $/GB. That makes it a 30% price difference. Not negligible IMHO.

I just ordered a Samsung 470 128 GB. I was looking a Crucial and Intel as well, but the Samsung had the best $/GB ratio available here.

I got my M4 128gb for $160. If you can get it close to that price, it would be your best bang for the buck.

When I was debating with myself if the buy.com 128gb m4 should be pounced on, I missed out and it sold out! It doesn't appear to have gone on sale since that time about 1-2 months ago! 🙁

Here is a vote for the M4 since it seems to be a very fast and reliable drive without seeing really anyone with trouble with them.

I have the 64GB M4 in my HTPC - very fast indeed. Feels noticeably faster than my older Corsair F120.

M4 for sure, it does 500 read now with new firmware 🙂 Intel is overpriced like crazy, the M4 is just as reliable if not more.

That's only for doing large file transfers. If you are using it as an OS drive, then the more important number to look at is the 4K random read/writes. I believe that the M4 gets around 60MB/sec (not sure since i only have the internet to gather the numbers from (I don't own one)) and the C300 gets in the 80-90MB/sec range. That's what OS writes are typically.

I am sending my M4 back. Newegg will only replace but if I could do it over again I would go for the Intel. Win7 never recognized the Crucial drive. I plugged in my Intel X-25M and BAM! I'll keep ya posted when the replacement arrives.

M4 and c300 are near identical. M4 is faster in some areas and on par with the rest. must use 0009 firmware though. C300 has slight edge on 4k random and thats about it.

In all honesty; I am not sure you would ever feel the difference between the c300, M4 or Intel drive. I would go with whichever one you get the best deal on; which will most likely be the M4.
I do not own one of the intel drives, but I can speak for C300/M4. I love the crucial drives, but do not have experience with intel to compare.

Get the Crucial M4 you will be thankful for the a little bit of extra space.

Why didn't you read about that before buying it? Just asking. I know if you buy it directly from Crucial you can get a refund. At least that is what Crucial told me.
