Came home yesterday to find no GPU tasks running, all the Milkyway tasks had error while computing. Eh, it's Milkyway, and they flake out occasionally. Let's load some Einstein GPU tasks. Uh oh, all instantly error while computing. Collatz? Instant errors. Enigma, instant errors. Folding? Nope, instant error.
Time to reinstall the drivers I suppose. Still, compute errors. Ran some diagnostics like passmark compute, won't complete, errors. Roll back to old drivers from October. Nope, no good.
Well, if it won't compute, will it play games? (uhm, yes, which is why I didn't get around to actually fixing it until this morning 😀 ) (Had to be thorough with my gaming tests, right?)
I was about to pull the card and swap it into another Win10/64 system when I remembered my old friend, Display Driver Uninstaller, which is the real reason for this post, to remind us of that program.
DDU is a real life (or at least time and money) saver.
