Another possibility I considered. However, I think the two darker spots beneath the bright vertical line are too far apart.

Sorry guys, I hate to be nit-picky. It's just that the 800X image should line up almost exactly with a region in this image.

Thanks for trying, mugs, I really appreciate it.

Towards the center of the 200x picture, there is a large(long vertically, wider at the top) region just to the right of center that is slightly darker than the surrounding area. I think that is the black area on the right of the 800x image.

I think this is it -> 200XMaybe.jpg

With the higher contrast -> 200XMaybe.png

So I have some images taken from a microscope at 200X and 800X, respectively. It's the same image, only zoomed to a portion of the 200X image. I'm trying to draw an inset box in the 200X image, but I can't seem to find where it belongs. Can anyone see where it's supposed to go? It's a stupid task, but I've been staring at these two images for over an hour, and I think I just need someone to take a fresh look at it. There's also two sample images so you get an idea of what I'm getting at.

200X Sample
800X Sample

I know this looks impossible, but I'd be really grateful if someone can save me from this ridiculous task.

What I recommend doing is trying to save the image to a webpage with a black background. The light background that I'm getting when I open the image is creating too much contrast between the image and the background so my eye is having trouble seeing the dark image. Do that and it might be easier to find it.

Yep, looks right to me. Thanks very much for everyone's help...it means a lot to me when people who know each other only through the forum are willing to help each other for no personal gain.
