Where's the video that says 6 to 8 times faster in DX10?

I know I saw the video. The proof that it did exist is this link that has another link to Wikipedia repeating the same stuff about DX10 being 6 to 8 times faster than DX9.

But, how did they come out with those numbers? If they decided to pull some numbers out of their butt, how do they decide what kind of numbers they should pull out of their butt? 4 to 6 times faster? 2 to 3 times faster? What did they do? Did they have focus groups determine in secret in a scientific way what kind of numbers would impress people? Imagine that they did that. I mean doing some interviews to determine exactly what kind of numbers they should pull out of their butt.

This is an interesting study on deception. When you know you can't deliver, hell, overpromise! That way maybe, just maybe people will be fooled into thinking they are still getting a good deal.

Do you even know how DX10 works compared to DX9? They are predicting in a perfect scenario, perfect ports into DX10 and 9, it will do a minimun of 2x better, with a chance of scaling depending on how the game coded.

I dont think it matters if he does or doesnt understand how dx10 or 9 works, most people dont. The fact of the matter is as stated, 6 to 8 times faster, was pulled from someones arse!

From what i've seen all the dx10 game/patches use better graphics, more polygons, more textures, more particles. So my guess the 2x-8x increase would be a game that is 100% the same but with a complete dx9 path and a complete dx10 path.

of course you will not see that kind of improvement as the developer want to make a game look better if they will use dx10 not like a dx9 game, think about it. But it t just mean that if a developer would make a game today from ground up with dx10 it would be much faster than if they did it in dx9.
