Where they at? from 2008-2010, it was all about the Tea Party, but ever since the 2010 election, poof! The Tea Party has disappeared. Shouldn't they be taking all that enthusiasm that they had against Obama, and now have the same enthusiasm for the Tea Party Repubs that they elected to Congress? Are they only capable of standing against something, and then they are no where to be found when it is time to stand for something? Where you at, Tea Party?

Citizens United rendered the brand superfluous.

There's still around and active. Here's a list from California.

Just because you don't see much coverage in the media, doesn't mean that nothing is happening. If you pulled your head out you'd be able to see they're still doing what they set out to do, which is get fiscally conservative people elected to government.

They are sitting at home hating Obama.

This. Likely they are sitting out the rest of the primaries. We will hear from their brand of crazy again, likely after the convention. They are not gone from the political landscape, unfortunately.

This.

They are still active, there is just not a much media coverage since they aren't new and exciting. OWS is much more interesting to cover, despite having little to no coherent message or goal, unlike the tea party.

That, and they've already successfully gotten many people into congress, so I would imagine there is much less of a need to openly protest and rally. Despite this, they still do, its just not as widely publicized.

They're dissatisfied with the big gov Republicans nominated and are sitting it out until the GOP listens to We The People.

If they support "we the people" shouldn't they support who the people voted for?

Or was that the wrong people, or do they know better than the people?

Given the shitty caliber of candidates that they supported (Palin, Angle, O'Donnel, et al), it would be a good thing if they decided to permanently sit out the political process.

Well they still got a choke chain around Boehner's neck and are getting their kicks jerking him around with it every chance they get.

But their message is stale and outdated. Times have changed. The economy is slowly improving and if the Tea Party does not change with the times they will be left behind as relics of the knee jerk reaction to the "fear the black commie muslim Kenyan with no birth certy" the Repubs were hard selling to the masses after Obama got elected.

It was a very effective ploy the Repubs put together as to how they "adopted" the Tea Party through infiltrating it with propaganda and tons of cash and turned it (them) into a lynch mob against Obama. But there's no continuity to their message in response to how things have changed for the better since.

Their fear mongering "doom and gloom" message is about as wrung out as it's going to get. And their blame-it-all-on-Obama "fiscal conservancy" message is continually losing traction and significance the more we dig ourselves out of the hole that Bush/Cheney put us in despite the current effort by the Repubs to keep us in that hole until they can do a repeat of 2000-2008 all over again.

I've posted a question such as this awhile back as the OWS crowd had been making headlines.... Do they not make bedfellows with a same agenda?

Too true. Other than that, they're sulking, wishing for more Faux News fluffery... pumped & dumped, pining for the perp, wishing he'd at least write or something...

Having liberal/lefty/democrats answer a question about what the tea party is doing is kind of like asking a life long paraplegic what kind of running shoes he recommends. They may mean well, but they really don't have a clue.

I already did earlier. They are fund raising, organizing events, prioritizing issues and questioning the candidates. I'm not a Tea Party member, but they have monthly meetings at a restaurant near where I live. They also have booths set up at home shows, garden shows etc. handing out literature. You guys act like they're Yetis or something.

The Tea Party won big in the 2010 federal election cycle. So do not forget the House's 2010 Freshmen class and politicians like Mr Rand Paul.

The Tea Party is drinking heavily... and possibly taking other drugs... because Romney is their only shot at power in the Oval Office.

They're a fringe group... like the George Soros' and Noam Chomskys of the country and like groups such as ALF (Animal Liberation Front) and the LWV (League of Women Voters).

The Tea Party was/is simply a rebranding of the Republican base. When you ask where they are, they are voting in the Republican primary, attending the debates, etc, etc.

They're still out there, obviously, but they're not getting the coverage from Faux that provided visibility & impetus. It's always been a bandwagon deal, a lot more noise than substance, symptomatic of a leadership having run off the end of the script. It's also a symptom of increasing denial among the base, the true believers, of the mental gymnastics required to keep believing.

The Bush Admin was, in many respects, the zenith of applied Repub policy. Now that we endure the consequences, they simply refuse to recognize cause & effect. The bank bailout & their attitude about it epitomize denial.
