Clinton should have NEVER been asked about his behavior with Lewinsky (as a function of the Whitewater Inquiry). The impeachable offense (perjury) was a function of the morality witchhunt. Regardless, Clinton is still guilty. He commited adultery (well at least sexual indiscretion) and then lied about it. Clinton and his defenders can claim he was set up but ultimately he let Mr. Happy loose, used the cigar, and then lied about it . . . repeatedly.

Not pertinent to this thread per se, but Lott is a racist just like Thurmond. He meant what he said at Strom's birthday party b/c his beliefs have been fixed since he was a young racist in college opposed to allowing blacks in his national fraternity. Alas, his apologeticists said it was just wishing a fossil a bon farewell and loves Negroes.

Bush and drug use before 1985 (crickets)
Bush and how he got into the Air National Guard (crickets)
Bush and where he was for the last year of his service requirement (crickets)
Bush and his impression of the Vietnam War while he was at New Haven (crickets)
Bush regime tales of links between Saddam and 9/11 (or Al Qaeda) . . . crickets

Schwarzenegger admits to rowdy behavior (he details this behavior in Pumping Iron and at least one magazine article in the 1990s). Esquire publishes several accounts in late 1990s or early 2000. The latest version (per Schwarzenegger) is that he was either 1) lying, 2) exaggerating, 3) did some inappropriate things but not as inappropriate as he's accused of . . .

CA GOP flocks to his campaign like moths to a flame despite rejecting a quality moderate less than a year prior (Riordan).

If Limbaugh has been addicted to opiates since a 90s vertebral surgery (I think his apologeticist use the term spinal surgery but I don't think anyone touched his spinal cord or emerging nerves) then he's been living a lie for a decade or so. Including the very likely scenario that his hearing loss was not secondary to rare autoimmunity but a very real adverse event from chronic opiate abuse. According to Rush he's failed (although he didn't use that term) treatment at least TWICE. I wonder if he's advocated drug courts and addiction therapy for three time offenders accused of simple possession?:Q

Clinton launched cruise missiles at alleged Al Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan and chem weapons plant in the Sudan. GOP harped about "Wag the Dog" and the lack of evidence to support such attacks. The current Bush regime had little supporting evidence before starting a war and have even more contradictory evidence afterwards but much of the GOP cannot line up quick enough to give Bush $87B with minimal oversight over how it is spent.

Hypocrites abound in America . . . being apalled at hypocrisy in American politics is akin to amazement at poop smelling bad.

But when the majority political party consistently uses standards they set to attack their opponents while doing the same and worse themselves the problem then becomes the advantage they gain by not being held to the very standards they set.

I know poop smells bad. I've been smelling all the poop the Bush administration has made in the last 33 months. But living by the double standard they've been allowed to live by they now think their poop doesn't stink. But their farts give them away.

i only read the first few responses and they are right on queue with my thinking but id like to point one thing out. the clinton-lewinsky relationship is whats described by feminist groups as the classic boss-taking-advantage-of-a-woman-employee relationship. what these groups often claim is that in these cases the boss is abusing his power over the woman. clinton most likely took advantage of the boss-employee relationship to get his way. and these leftists feminist groups showed their hypocrisy by not expressing their outrage at clinton - for taking advantage of lewinsky #1 and for cheating on his wife #2. keep in mind years before they conducted a which hunt against clearance thomas - eventhough the accusations against him were 10x more vague. and for the record the accusations against arnold are 10x more vague than the accusations made against clearance thomas.

So when women come forward with allegations against a Republic politician they are vague. When there is a consentual relationship between a Democratic politician and a woman they aren't.

Just as I said. Hypocrisy. Plain and simple.

A wise man once said, "As ye judge, so shall ye be judged."

Interpretation: You will be judged by the same standards you judge others!

That same wise man said, "Judge not, lest you be judged."

Put the 2 together and we come up with this:

1) Don't judge, or so will you.
2) If you ignore point #1, then be prepared to be judged by the same standard that you have judged.
3) Don't be an idiot, adhere to point #1.

edit: spelling

You don't suppose he meant: You are what you judge others to be? When you judge others you judge yourself?

That works too, as recent events show that those yelling judgements the loudest seem to do so out of their own guilt.

Clinton lied under oath, lied to his staffers, and lied on national TV to the American people, not for national security, not to aid the country in any way, but to cover his own a$$. That's why I'm mad at Clinton.

Arnold has not been proven to have done any of these things. If he does, you can be sure I'll be mad at him too. Until then, BOBDN, you're just launching YAPAWNS (Yet Another Partisan Attack With No Substance).

Ho hum. Everyone lies about sex. It is wrong. It is not a scandal.
Lying under oath during a grand jury investigation is "Ho hum?" I can only question your values and hope that you're never a witness in any kind of trial.
that's all republicans/conservatives do all day

question other peoples values...

how about youlook in the mirror and quit worrying about the rest of us? thanks
I look in the mirror everyday, and can honestly say to myself that I don't lie and that I believe in telling the truth. Obviously, you can't, and in my book, that's makes you a baaaaad person.

BTW, you are a hypocrite, if you are saying that you don't question other people's values. You just questioned mine.

You also dishonor honest democrats/liberals by painting them all with the same brush you paint yourself with.

this is a typical liberal technique, repeating a falsehood over and over again in an attempt to create a new "truth"

there was nothing "consensual" in between Clinton and Paula Jones...As Govenor, he used a State trooper to bring a state employee up to a hotel room
where he wagged his willie at her and asked her to suck him off. He paid a 6 figure settlement, and was disbarred for perjury.

there was nothing consensual between Kathleen Willey (allegedly groped) and Clinton,
there was nothing consensual between Juantia Broddrick (alleged raped) and Clinton.

just quit it...quit lying

Kinda' like the WMD in Iraq? Or the imminent threat Saddam posed? Or the drone aircraft that Saddam had ready to spray us all with chem/bio? Or the connection between Saddam and 9/11? Or the cost of the invasion being paid for by Iraqi oil? Or the tax cuts will produce jobs? Etc.etc.etc.

Yeah, uh huh. The liberal technique. Repeating a falsehood over and over again in an attempt to create a new "truth."

LMFAO

You're ridiculous you fvcking moron.

You don't read very well. I said it was wrong. It is not a scandal. Clinton lied about sex like all men do. He should not have been forced to go before a grand jury about it. Sex between consenting adults is not a grand jury matter. It escalated only because of the Republicans hated Clinton and were sore losers.

Clinton was wrong to lie. The scandal was the Republican assault on the president.
