I mean, surely you can get stuff cheaper than you can get it for at Best Buy and the like, right?

No thanks on both count, I'd like to buy legit stuff. Newegg's prices seem pretty good on everything but MS OS's - $139 for Windows XP?

Buy.com, Amazon.com, chipsbits.com are all good if you compare prices.

For Windows you'll usually want to buy an OEM version (googlegear.com has pretty good prices) but be careful since some of the Pricewatch prices are for the license only with no install CD.

If you're still a student you can get much better prices either through your campus (often under $10) or through some vendor selling academic versions.

Academic copys of MS software still generally runs high from my experience, not as high as buying retail, but you could probably find a better deal by going with an OEM. Hmmm unless the bookstore is marking up our price.. workin for "the man".
