Am I the only one who noticed that Anandtech's recent Opteron articles are completely devoid of ANY 64-bit benchmarks? How could they have completely overlooked arguably the most important aspect of the Opteron?

Don't throw that winxp-64bit-isn't-out-yet stuff at me, 64-bit versions of Linux are out, and were used by other reviewers...

Come on Anandtech, fess up, where are you hiding those 64-bit benchies?

Anandtech isn't running any real-world 64-bit applications. They used their database (a real database that is used every day) and measured the performance. As for why we didn't see any synthetic or simulated benchmarks, I think that would've been a good part to include in the review but hardly neccessary. Most people who run x86 software are running Xeons, and we want to see what moving to Opteron will do for this.
