Where's Superman during this oil spill crisis?

I'm at home watching Superman III and there is a segment where an oil tanker springs a leak and Superman comes along to save the day. He blows all the oil back into the tanker and seals up the hole with his laser vision.

Now if he was just a real person, this whole thing would have been over with.

Superman punched that tanker open earlier in the movie when he was evil superman. Bastard flew around the world doing all sorts of evil shit, like straightening the Leaning Tower of Pisa!! D:

FUCKING EVIL!!!

Then he becomes good again and flies around fixing everything he fucked up, like blowing all the oil back into the tanker and sealing it, re-leaning the Tower in Pisa, etc.

such a brilliant movie...
