I'd like to buy a S939 A64 3500+ but the mobo I've had my eyes on (Asus A8N) isn't out.

What's the deal with launching new chips but no mobos to use them in?

Do you mean the ASUS A8V ?

It is out. Zipzoomfly has it

The problem is that that the official Asus website was listing it for a couple of days and now they took it down.

In your shoes I would wait until it is officially there. Maybe they are trying to make sure threir quality control is up to par (since they had some problems before).

EDIT:
Their USA website doesn't list it.
..but their global site does.

Yes, the USA site does indeed lists it.

Socket 939 - VIA K8T800 Pro - A8V Deluxe

Seems like the link to the actual A8V Deluxe on the motherboard listing page isn't working/broken.

If you're talking about the regular A8V then I can say it doesn't exist. All 939 reviews done with an Asus motherboard is the A8V Deluxe.

Depends what you want to do- if your going to overclock it'll be better to go with 754

It's too early to tell. There aren't a lot who have the 939 chips. The overclocking potential is still a slight mystery.

My A8V Deluxe came today. I'm still waiting for my RAM to come tomorrow before I piece this baby together. :)

You are probably refering to the MSI K8N Gem (socket 939) reference board that MSI has been handing out for tests.

I haven't seen any mention of an ASUS A8N anywhere (other than some kids in forums ranting, in jest, that they would rather have an ASUS with an nvidia chipset)

I believe that board is based on the new PCI-E nVidia chipset which means you won't be seeing it before September.

Each Fry's Electronics recieved 4 of the AV8 Abit 939 boards in stock. I bought one on Sunday. I'm gonna return it though, I want the Asus though cause it doesn't have a northbridge Heatsink.
