Where's a good place to see the sunrise in NYC (western brooklyn)?

So i wanted to see the sunrise this morning.

i'm near the brooklyn bridge so i walk over it.

sunrise is 6:54am. but i didnt see the sun till 7:15a because of all the bldgs blocking my view

so any suggestions on where to view the sunrise?

The Brooklyn bridge is on the wrong side of Brooklyn. To view a sunRISE the last thing you want to do is head west. Go another couple of minutes from Brooklyn into Queens and try Breezy Point or Jamaica Bay.

Take the Staten Island Ferry, It's free, just do a round trip with it. Each trip is about 25-30mins.
