I was thinking about getting Modafinil/Provigil to help me focus more at work, but you need a prescription and you can go to jail if you possess it without one...

But I read the company that makes Provigil also has another product called Adrafinil which is basically the same thing (the body metabolizes the drug into modafinil), plus you don't need a prescription to obtain it, so no federal PMITA consequences for possessing it :)

Anyone know a reputable online website where i can get it? Thanks!

Yeah, I'm wondering how that stuff is. Don't want to spend $30 on some Adrafinil (or even more for Modafinil) and have it do nothing.

Some people have said it is useless, some said it is the best thing out there for alertness.

I forgot the difference in the two. Adrafinil is of course way cheaper. Heard Modafinil is better but don't know in what ways.

the body metabolizes the drug into modafinil

This metabolization is slightly toxic. Seems like acetaminophen-level toxicity, but not quite sure.

You should probably go with modafinil if you can help it. For a healthy liver the toxicity isn't much of an issue if taken occasionally, but as a daily booster I wouldn't suggest it.

My sources on where to buy it are outdated, one thing I do know is that it's become very cheap, particularly in powder form. It is illegal to buy online (not that this stops anyone) because it's a Schedule 4 (which is pretty stupid, the drug is safer than aspirin). Until recently it's also been patent protected, but not anymore so that changes things much. I'd suggest avoiding the Intas Pharm brand, the level of heavy metals in there is higher than reasonable, Sun pharma last time I checked was good and cheap.

For dosage, I would recommend 100mg for starters, 200mg if that seems inadequate. Half life is 8 hours I believe, so take between every 4-8 hours as needed. This is for modafinil.

The first thing to do would be to go here:

And browse the Nootropics sub-forum for modafinil related posts (or adrafinil/armodafinil variants). For all things drug and health related, a better place on the web doesn't exist, so I suggest you bookmark it for future reference.
