Just noticed the new Seagate barracuda has 32mb catch. Do you think there would be a noticeable performance boost with that? Specifically for playing large gb sample libraries which store the beginnings of thousands of sounds in ram and then play the remainder from the hardrive?

Hello Mongoo13,

I am supposed to by getting the last part (RAM) for my new computer today. I am going to be running two 500GB 7200.11 disks in RAID0. I will test the performance relative to my other system, which is running the new, thin 250GB 7200.10 (st3250410as)....

My system is up and running and really the RAID0 with the 7200.11 does not make a dramatic difference. For example, loading Crysis takes about 40 seconds on my 7200.10 (no RAID), versus this with RAID0 loads in about 33 seconds...
