where're the 200gig'ers at?!?

I read not too long ago (month? 3-4 weeks?) on the Western Digital page that their release of the new 200gig hard drives was supposed to happen by the end of July.
Well, that time has come and gone, and I'mwondering what the heck happened! I want the prices to drop on WD's other drives (like the 120gig JB 🙂 ).

Anyone have any clues about this, or any place information could be found? Through WD's site, the new drives seemed to be priced at $400, but it says out of stock. Don't know what that is supposed to mean.

I have not seen these avaible *anywhere* except for WD's website, and as I said, those are always out of stock. If you could link to one, I'd gladly believe you, but until then, I want to know why there has been a delay, or when they will actually be released.
 
Try pricewatch, looks like only a couple shops are taking pre orders right now.

$418 to $429 for the 200GB

$438 for the 200GB SE
 
what would you use 200GB for unless your doing video?! Even then a RAID system with like 2 80GB drives is better. I have a 40GB and i have a ton of music and apps and still have 15GB left!
 
I have 250 gigs of HDD space now (1x120, 1x80, 1x30, 2x9) and can tell you that I only have about 70 gigs free altogether...and those are filling up fast

I don't know how you live with a 40!
