where you're from... did the HS kids leave town after college life ?

I only moved 1 town over from my HS town after I was done with college... most of the ones I knew are gone... out of state... or into the big city. I guess it's mostly natural since they don't want to live the rest of their lives in the same place they grew up in... sounds quite dull. I'm not looking for adventure or anything and I love the island. It also may not be such an option for others in small towns where they even went to college in the same area... guess some stay forever. How's it over by you ?

Some do, some dont. Most live in generally teh same area. But I live in the burbs, and thats the best

community college is 2 minutes from HS, most go there, i go because they gave me 2 full tuition scholorships for the next 2 years, me = making money off of going

I went to prep school, so just about everyone went away to college. I live next to NYC, though, so even the kids who didn't want to leave home could still go to NYU, Columbia, or New School.

Graduate in 99 and some of the people have trickled back home. Some tried making it work elsewhere and just ended up coming back. Reasonably sized town within a half hour of the state capitol though so a lot of people move here who commute.

Most stayed in the local area since its a 1.5 hour commute to NY or Philly from where I live in central NJ. Getting expensive to buy/rent around here though since more move in then out.

Where I live, they are almost all still in the same town (HS covered 3 small towns in SE Wisconsin). Its actually very pathetic when I get back there, because nobody has changed or moved on in life.
