Check pcprogress. They have some OEM chip too. You want to try and find a phillipine made chip. The malay chips have not been OC'n as nice. Seen some hit 1600MHz with a phillipine chip at 1.5v. That is sweet;)

I noticed that pcprogress lists their 1200 Celerons as 0.18 micron. I guess they haven't measured them yet.

You will get a malay chip there. I would look around and ask a few places if they can for the phillipine made chip. Like i said these chips like lower voltages on the OC like any other but the .13u process is a little bit more picky. I would say if you have to hit anything above 1.8v it is not good with this chip without really good cooling. If you want a low clocker then order form googlegear like me. If you want a good clocker then look for a phillipine made chip. Not sure how pushy you canbe but you can ask them to find out if the chip is made in the phillipines or not. i know a few places that have done that for me. You may have to call their warehouse for them to check and I wouldn't guarentee you will get the chip they told you about. I would simply ask for the place the chip is made.

If they say,

"why do you want to know that?"

Tell them,

"Cause I want to know and if you want a sale you will tell me!"

If you don't get any straight answers I would maybe order OEM with a year warranty casue I don't know anyone yet that has got one of those and they may all be made in the Phillipines. Every one I know so far has ordered retail which is not bad either but most of them have been Malay chips and average OC'rs. You want something that will hit 1.6@ 1.65v max. That is the phillipine made chip. I have never heard of many of the Malay chips doing this.

Hmmmm, I guess that is your problem. I think they have self help groups for that don't they. I think it is called underclockers anonymous.

;)

Not sure why one would not want a good OC'r cause I wouldn;t consider it OC'd if the temps were avaerage for the chip and it was a tank but hey, that is just me;)

When your temps are way out in never never land and vcores are through the roof then I would use the term OC'd in a big way. You know what I mean?

I mean if you can take a celery 1.2 and get 1.6 out of it and keep vcores within like %5~%10 of the defualt value then you are sitting very good and if your temps are under say 37 deg. C then I would wrap it up and and call it good. It will remain at that setting for many a year and the box itself will be good for at least a year or longer with keeping up with current software. Who am I kidding they haven't even made software except games that will use all that hurtz. Can you dig what I am saying?

googlegear still got tax :(

anyone get to 1.6ghz w/ the IHS on?
>>

Alot of people, in fact most of them;) If you are going to OC though I would go with a OEM Phillipine made chip. What part of that don't you understand. With that I would get the year warranty they give you when you buy a fan or whatever. Get a good COPPER HS and the OEM chip and you should hit 1600MHz. With a Malay chip you are not guarenteed that. The ranges for th Phillipines chip seem to be in the 1600~1700MHz @ 1.6v range while the Malay chip s seem to be in the 1550~1650MHz @ 1.75v range. Can you see the correlation here? You want the phillipine made chip:D
