Where would I find a PAL format TV in the US?

I need a 15khz RGB monitor. Only options really are a Commodore 1084 or Amiga, which are old and tiny. A European TV with scart socket would be perfect, but lo and behold they don't exist in the US. I figure somebody somewhere has to have brought a few TVs to the states. Any suggestions on where to look? No dice on Ebay.

There are PCI TV cards with universal tuners - LifeView's FlyTV Platinum, KWorld got one too. That'll let you run any image source from anywhere in the world into your computer, for recording or just viewing. VCR, old home computers and games consoles, whatever it is.

(the 2nd one adds an MPEG2 compression engine, to offload the system CPU whilst recording for later DVD mastering.)

I can't really make use of these either though, computer monitors run at 30khz and up, and these also don't have RGB inputs.

Aha, so you have RGB at 15 kHz, nothing else? Then you don't need a European (PAL format) monitor anyway, you just need something with an RGB input, like fully-wired SCART. You're feeding into behind the video decoder, so whether the unit is NTSC or PAL doesn't matter.

If you can't find a monitor, there are also frequency doubler boxes (from 15.6 to 31.2 kHz) for consoles like the XBox. These let you use a plain VGA monitor, and can also be used with any other 15 kHz RGB input signal.

Yeah I should probably just be looking for an analog CGA monitor instead. A bit more than I want to spend, but it'd be much easier to find than a Euro TV. Oh well.

CGA is _digital_ TTL level RGB. No workie. You need analog RGB.

Do US TVs not have RGB input? If "yes": Duh. Another conspiracy to make people go to the movies more

Aim for a console-to-VGA converter box, and grab any random old standard VGA monitor to go with that.
