Where Would A Person Buy A Leather Backpack?, B&M

B&M store.
Need a decent looking backpack with no teenage mutant ninja turtles on it.
Started a 3 month rotation at a different job and if you have a backpack, you can walk right in.
If you are carrying a laptop bag, security stops you and wants you to sign your laptop in and out.

I bought this one just last month. I never get stopped by security at work

All these places with back to school sales and you can't find a backpack? Are you going to keep a laptop in it? Or do they just not inspect the ones that don't look like they have a laptop in them?

Do you just want something to last you through the 3 months?

Try here $14.99 or Staples has 25-50% off all their backpacks.

This.
Back to school ones at Target, etc look "kiddish".

Like something leather or with some leather.

And yet you failed to mention that at all. Pffffbbbttt!

Not sure why you think that would make it adult though. I know lots of adults who carry backpacks and none of them carry leather.

My bad, I assumed it was implied when I said "adult".

I would try office supply stores or higher end department stores for professional looking bags, and sporting goods stores for more outdoors / sporty looking bags.

edit: Also try Amazon.

I bought a black Swiss Gear backpack a couple years ago and I'm always amazed at how well it's held up over the years.

it's my work backpack any time I need to bring something to the office larger than my tablet, and I've traveled with it several times.

Bought this Jansport at REI when it was on sale for $48 a few years ago; regular price is pretty high. Covered the "Jansport" logo with a patch (fits perfectly in that area).

The backpack has little padding on the bottom corners, so carrying a laptop (setting it down) needs to be careful. When I really care, I put the laptop in a sleeve and then inside the backpack.

This is my second Jansport backpack; carried the first for >10 years (undergrad, grad school, hiking). Sent the first one in for zipper repairs hoping that they'd just replace it... but they repaired it instead. Now I use the first one for body parts, when I need to get my brake rotors resurfaced, and other dirty stuff.

tbh, once you decide to wear a full-on backpack, no amount of leather or styling is going to class it up.

backpacks are backpacks. they're more functional than a messenger bag, but will be forever burdened by reminding everyone of grammar school.

if you're concern is looking presentable, ditch the backpack and get a nice messenger bag or briefcase (depending on how well-dressed you'll be).

but I'd think that any black nylon bag should fit your needs.
