Friends walked in and told me to turn on the tv.

I was in my Network Admin's room watching the 2nd plane pile in the 2nd tower.

I slept in that day, Woke up around 11ish and walked into a buddies room who was in tears and watching TV. I'm like "Dude, what's going on?" Look at the TV and nearly lost it.

I couldn't think about anymore and went back to bed.

In German Class, we were talking about what we did in the last week, when a kid said that that morning the WTC had been attacked and collapsed. I blurted out in English, that doesn't happen, longest 30 minutes of my life waiting to get out of class and see what happened...

i was sleeping...and then my bro woke me up like insane saying the 2 towers went down..i went "i want to sleep go away"....and then he blared on the TV

At work. Logged on to Genocide (a MUD), and heard people talk about the first plane, when someone suddenly mentioned the second one. I freaked out when they started mentioning explosions all around the White House and the Pentagon (so the media overreacted a bit too), as my youngest sister worked in a building between those two.

I was sleeping...got to class and people were talking about it. I went home and watched CNN for hours...

I was at work, designing some software. One of my o-worker's wives called and said a plane hit hte twin towers. we figured a cesena or sum'n. Then after the 10 minute load time at every interent news site o nteh net, I almost crapped my pants. I left work after the first tower collapsed. I work a ta defense contractor and ai decided I have no idea what is going on or if we are a target. I was pretty messed up for like 3 months.

We had just boarded a plane at DFW and sitting on the jet-way awaiting clearance to back away from the boarding platform.

The FAA shut down the airports shortly before we would have been in the air on the way to Colorado Springs. It took almost 5 hours to get checked luggage back

The fear, apprehension, and rampant rumors throughout the airport was phenomenal

I was showering, getting dressed, etc... before going to class. First I heard about it was actually from a few people in an IRC channel (I'd left it idling overnight) chatting about a plane crashing into the trade tower. It was like some sick war of the worlds type of thing.

It made me understand how my dad fealt about Pearl Harbor. I made a joke about it once... ONCE!!! Let's just say, I wouldn't do it again.

At work. My brother called and said a plane just crashed into the WTC, and I joked about JFK Jr. flying again. :frown: Bad taste, I know.

Yahoo had a vague paragraph about a plane and the tower, but no more detail.

Spent the next 4 hours in the breakroom with about 50 others. A very sad day.

I was at school and some kid said "A plane hit the US Treasury". Nobody thought it was a big deal until the teacher pulled up some images on one of the news sites. As I walked from the class to my car to go home, I saw the school employees crowded around various TV sets looking at the unreal images of what was happening.

I was half asleep, about to get up for work, when my radio came on to wake me up. Some talking head was going on about a plane crashing into the WTC, and me being in a sleep state thought it was a dream. It was surreal when I woke up and turned of the TV.

Then I went to work (at my tech support ISP job) and everything just happened to be broke that day. I took about 100 calls in 2 or 3 hour period. It was hell. I just wanted to leave and go watch the tv.

The world was changing before our eyes and these people had to have their e-mail :-/

I saw the whole thing from my window!!

I was getting up for work, and I worked like 5 blocks away from WTC.

I had more questions on my mind than fear at that time. I was like, what the heck is going on??
