Bought Quake 3 from an ebay seller and for some reason the dood sold me an actual real disk (although it was scratched beyond being playable) but as a "key" he gave me a key that can be found on any of the various illegal serial key websites out there. Contacted him and he said "i sold you the CD only not the key".

Is there anything more i can do than report it to paypal? Its pretty clear hes making copies of disks or doing this to a lot of people out there after looking at the negatives that are popping up...

it was only $6.50....its not the money though just the principal

he didnt have that many negs when i bought from him...had something like 6K reviews with a 99% rating...

not a big deal but i'd rather get him off there than screw more people over :/

there's not much you can do. ebay is notorious about not dealing with people. but you can try through safeharbor or something like that and hope for the best.

thanks :) I would never buy from someone with that many negatives no matter how many positives he has. 97.4 is way low for that many transactions.

yeah i had a hunch i was gunna get screwed...but for $6.50 for Q3 i was willing to take a risk...

if you notice, most of his positves are from repeat buyers. This is just another kid and his friends trolling on ebay.

"CD-Key to be emailed to winners upon reciept of product."

that should have tipped you off as well.

Ebay might not care about you getting screwed, but they definitely will care about him trying to avoid Ebay fees through his ridiculous selling price:shipping cost ratio
