What are some places people have registered domain names at recently? I need to renew mine in the next month or two.

Why not renew your domain with your current domain registrar?
I haven't been maintaining the registration on it the last few years, my hoster has and I don't know who they were using.

So your domain is controled by your webhost? You could get it transfered to namecheap and start managing it yourself. ASk your host how you can renew it or transfer it.

Try checking in your hosting panel. That's how I take care of it with my host. (dreamhost)

It was being hosted by my webhost, but I asked for and got control of the account last week. I've already updated all the information so I'm in control of it now, but I need to first renew the domain and then I'm going to move it to a different webhost. Thanks for the suggestions on registrars!
