Quicken has a pretty good mortgage website, I used them as a reference when I refinanced with my current 5 7/8 rate.

Your local newspaper should have something about local lenders @ least once a week in the finance section, listing current rates. they usually publish them on Thursday in the Dallas Morning News.

We refinanced thru the same bank and avoided a bunch of of the upfront costs. I'm not sure if it's that way everywhere but you could ask where you have your current loan.

Hi
I saw you are trying to refinance your home. My cousin lives in the Bay area of California and does refinancing. I told him that I did not want to come out of my pocket for this so he just added the closing costs into my loan. Also, he can pretty much beat/match any deal out there if you find something better as long as your credit allows it. Even if you don't live in the bay area, he can work with you still. I live in San Diego and I just went from 7.2% down to 5.25.

If you want his info, let me know and I can give you his phone # to his office so you can get in touch.

Thanks
Ariel
