Where to put Slot Cooler

Hi, I just bought a slot cooler and i put it in the PCI slot right below the graphc card. There is less than half an inch of room between the slot fan and the graphic card's fan. Should I leave that slot fan there or move it down one more PCI slot? I am thinking maybe it isn't a good idea to have the slot fan so close to the graphic card's fan, because it might put more strain on the graphic card's fan. Any opinions on this?
The AIW X800 XT doesn't have a temperature monitor that I can view so I cannot tell the temps at all. It is very dissapointing, but even 3rd parties can't read the temps so I have no choice, but to not OC it.

slot coolers are from the old days, I cant see its worth today
current vidcards have pretty elaborate dedicated cooling
if you are that worried about vidcard, a 120MM fan mounted in case sideplate, or I guess water cooling would be next step

just my .02

Hmmm. I don't want to tape a fan to the side of my case or drill a hole for a fan. So that is sort of out of the question.
This video card runs hotter than my 6800 nu, and when under full load it runs a lot more noisy than the 6800 NU or GT. (I owned both at one point)
I just wanted a really cheap solution to help cool the graphic card and a <$5 slot cooler seemed to fit that gap. 🙂

There are other solutions such as some cooler that uses a PCI slot and has fans to blow directly onto the graphic card, but those are a little more expensive and probably louder.

Since I can't see the card's temperature I was hoping someone knows where to put the slot fan for the most effective cooling.
