Where to place the SSD ?

SSDs are not vibration or orientation sensitive so placing it on the floor of the case is fine. However, you do have to consider that if it's not stuck to something it can move around, hitting other parts of your computer or dislodging the SATA or power cable.
 
I use iCage I have 3 drives in it. Soo take one out and put ssd bracket like johnny said.. also thx shenintor..


hmm how about velctro,, can I velcro it so it doesnt move a mm even .

My pump is sitting outside, but for a nice time it was put inside the case and Velcro. Doesnt move at all and I dont touch the case or move it around also...

Yes, let's spend $600 or whatever on a sensitive piece of electronic equipment and then chuck it on the bottom of your case with no real fixing.

You already know this is wrong. This is just another one of your silly threads.

Well, some people are fastidious about their cable management, but as an alternative, you should weave your cabling into a little hammock to hold it, and then tie the SATA cable around everything to secure it with a bow.
 
I have seen many others just chuck it in the bottom of the case. That's what I did with one m4. The other I had to get a bit creative with, however. I would say that for one ssd it's fine to dump it in the bottom, just make sure that it stays flat.

I got a $5 bracket on Newegg that holds two 2.5" drives in a 3.5" bay.

I was spending $$$$ on a blasted SSD, I figured I should give it a nice home.

It came, and the SSD included its own bracket. Return shipping was $5 so I kept the bracket.

You happen to remember the model or have it handy? I might need that. As it is I'm just resting my M4s in separate 3.5" HDD bays in my case. They aren't strapped in.
 
SO no problem but I would at least use some tape to secure it a bit. But my case natively came with support for 2.5 and 3.5 drives so no problem.

I just bought one. It wasn't worth the hassle/price to me when I got the 2 x m4's, but I figured it would be a lot more than $5. With the price so cheap for mounting both of my drives I figured it was probably a good idea.

edit: I currently have one of my m4's in the bottom of the case and one just sitting in a 3.5" drive bay. I had to rebuild my RAID array a few weeks ago when one of my drives got cocked at an angle. They're very flat now, but as mentioned $5 is pretty cheap for peace of mind with my $430 ssd investment.
