I checked the Home Depot site and they don't have it...neither does like Kmart or Walmart...don't really know where else to look. Auto shop? Suggestions?

Thanks.

What are you dyeing? I think some spray-on leather dyes work on vinyl.

Yeah I see SEM all over teh intranet but I can't seem to find any on local store websites. How would leather dye work on plastic?

Anyway I found that "Advance Auto Parts" sells SEM vinyl dye and there's one within a few miles of where I live. I'll check there.

I'll also check Joann's, there's one out in the same direction.

Um...do I need to wear a mask when using this stuff? I'll be spraying it into a small container (a bit at a time) and hand painting it on...

I've used vinyl dye for lots of things, it's exactly like spray paint, smell and all.

Make sure you prep the material extremely well. What I did was wear latex gloves and completely scrub the part with mineral spirits, rubbing alchohol, etc. After that I would paint it.

You can't hand paint it. What are you trying to do?

I read and was also told that for details, you can spray it into a small container and use a Qtip or something to brush it on. It dries quickly so I plan to do it a little bit at a time. I don't have a large area to paint, so I don't think it should be a problem.

yeah, but it's used for plastics in the RC world. I would assume you could use it on vinyl. don't really know for sure.

You can boil plastic parts (white ones) in RIT dye and they will absorb that color.

(Ive done zip ties for parties and plastic nylon parts for RC cars, depends on the plastic your doing)
