Where to learn about movie premiere events?

So apparently tonight, no more than 2 miles from my place was the premiere of Lord of the Rings 3, with the whole cast, and all these celebrity type people and I didn't even know about it until people told me that they just came back from it (without having invited me =/)

Heard there was like a ratio of 100 teenie bopper type college girls to 10 gay guys to 1 straight guy. What nice odds that would've been =/

WTF? I never knew teenie boppers and gay guys were into this movie. I would have thought it would have been mostly nerds.
