I am in South Florida and have never gone snowboarding and skiing. I think its about time :)

I have no idea where I would go for this kind of thing.
Where in the United States should I go for this kind of thing.

Closest to you is probably North Carolina. I went to Boone, NC once and it was ok for a 3 day trip.

I don't really care if it is around me. I just want to keep it in the United States and want to have a great experience. Thanks for your help so far :)

Yep, Colorado and Utah are the first places I thought of as well.

I live in Utah. There are a lot of resorts around here, and most the out of towners are leaving and school is going back in session, so it shouldnt be too busy around here. I would recommend staying in Park City.

Do NOT go to Boone, ive been there and the slopes blow ass. If you want real snowboarding, Colorado or Utah are your best bets. You can also check out New England

Boone is not great, but I think it's good enough for someone starting out (since it was closest to the OP). I don't know why anyone would suggest New England for any reason other than if the OP were already there or they hate the person.
